The pattern
- Big names got cut. Emirates, Cathay and Hyatt all got worse at one bank or another.
- Additions are mostly hotels and second-tier airlines. Wyndham showed up at two banks.
- Cheaper cards are getting worse ratios than premium cards. The Chase Hyatt change and Citi's American Airlines split both work this way.
By bank
- Chase: 1 better, 2 worse (both Hyatt).
- Amex: 1 better, 2 worse.
- Capital One: 1 worse.
- Citi: 1 better, 2 worse.
- Bilt: 3 better, 1 worse.
Other changes worth knowing
- Citi ended Points Sharing between people on May 17. You can still combine points across your own cards.
- Wells Fargo added Cathay Pacific at 1 to 1 on April 28.
- U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve can now transfer to airlines and Accor (August 11). The card is closed to new applicants.
Coming next
- Bilt to Hyatt goes 4 to 3 on January 1, 2027.
- Chase's old 1.25 and 1.5 cent travel value for older points ends October 26, 2027.
The lesson: don't sit on a big balance waiting for the perfect trip. Ratios can change before you use them.
