Where your points can go: five banks, every partner

Shelves of world globes in a lit display case

In short: Capital One and Bilt reach the most airlines (18 each). Amex is the only way into Delta and ANA, Citi the only way into American, and Bilt the only way into Alaska and Amtrak. Most transfers are 1 to 1, but not all. Checked October 20, 2026.

Bank points are only as good as the places you can send them. The five big programs overlap a lot, but each has a few partners nobody else has, and the ratios aren't always 1 to 1.

Ratios that aren't 1 to 1

Most transfers are 1,000 bank points to 1,000 partner points. The ones that aren't are marked in the grid. A few to know:

Partners every bank shares

Air France-KLM Flying Blue, British Airways (except Citi), Air Canada Aeroplan (except Citi) and Virgin Atlantic show up almost everywhere. If one of these books your trip, any bank works and the choice comes down to ratio and any running transfer bonus.

Transfers are one way. Find the seat or the room first, then transfer. Here's the order I use.
